Special Educational Needs and Disability

At Bradfield CE Primary, we are committed to the equal inclusion of all pupils in every aspect of school life.

We are proud of the diversity of our school and recognise the individual needs of all our pupils.  As such, we are dedicated to providing an education which enables every child to achieve their full potential.

At the centre of our approach to SEND is a positive and graduated approach, in which we aim to remove barriers to learning, raise expectations and standards of attainment, and work in partnership with other agencies and parents.  This approach allows us to provide a positive educational experience for every child, including those with (SEND).

The school has a part time Nurture Group for behaviour, social and emotional need, run by a dedicated Nurture Lead who work closely with our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and headteacher to ensure children requiring support in these areas are able to make progress and achieve success.

We also have a Designated Teacher for Looked after Children who works closely with staff to ensure all teachers in school understand the implications for those children who are looked after and have special educational needs.

SEN Policy

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Policy can be viewed on our policies page by clicking here. Current information about our SEN provision can be found below in the Local Offer and SEND Information Report.

The Local Offer and School Information Report

The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about the services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people aged from 0 to 25 who have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND).

This is known as the Local Offer.

For more information regarding the SEN information Report at Bradfield CE Primary School, please click here. This is not only the Local Offer submission, but also acts as the SEND Information Report for our school.  This report is reviewed annually with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator and leadership team and shared with the SEND Governor.

For more information on the West Berkshire Council Family Information Service which is one-stop shop providing information, advice and support on a wide range of services for adults, families and children in West Berkshire, please click here.

We will continue to add information on the website and welcome your feedback.
